Ajpi noted that in the media audios, those who support the elderly woman with an attitude akin to the de facto Government of Jeanine Añez (2019-2020) and the opposition parties were heard shouting for “the Deputy Minister of Health Insurance Alejandra Hidalgo to resign.”

The deputy minister arrived as head of a health team and climbed up a ladder to the terrace of the building to provide Carvajal with medical assistance.

However, the 84-year-old refused to be examined.

“Unfortunately, the opposition political parties are using Mrs. Carvajal as bait for political purposes, and because of her age I think she takes part in this manipulation,” the MP concluded.
