In statements to Radio 10, the head of state denounced the effects of the commitment made by his predecessor with that organization for a value of more than 56 billion dollars, the largest amount approved in the history of the IMF and this country.
In addition, he recalled that to the burden represented by this debt, were added the consequences of the drought, a phenomenon that caused the loss of 20 million dollars and made the situation more complex.
However, he assured that the Minister of Economy Sergio Massa and a team of specialists are continuing negotiations with the IMF.
On the other hand, he criticized members of the opposition who “are betting that the situation will worsen and that there will be a collapse”.
There is a sector of Argentine politics that is concerned about the interests of some and not about the fate of the homeland, he said.
“The right wing wants to take away rights from those who work and retirees. They want to go back to thinking in the sense of a privatized country and not with a present State. We have to warn about the risk we are running”, he added.
