¨We do represent citizen’s feelings, says ANPP deputy

Havana, Jul 20 (Prensa Latina) José Carlos Cruz, deputy of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (ANPP) said that a great number of all-important issues for Cubans´ focus were discussed Thursday.

Deputy for Baraguá municipality, Carlos Cruz told Prensa Latina that the prevailing spirit in this ANPP´s First Ordinary Session is to put in context Cubans´ feelings.

“We do represent our people and what we do in here is -among all of us- to put forward the best proposals for a prosperous and sustainable socialism we long for,” Carlos Cruz added.

This is his ANPP´s meeting to attend, so it is a great for him to be debating issues of interest for his municipality and Cuba in general.

For young people like me -he stressed- it is a great opportunity to be part of a transformation process for our Revolution, and I do believe this is one of transcendental times where Cuban youth plays an overly important role.

Regarding Wednesday morning’s session, Carlos Cruz commented on the approval of the new Military Penal Code, which he considered to be important and updates a regulation that dates back to the last century.

Carlos Cruz also referred to the approval of the Policy of Integral Attention to Children, Adolescents and Youths; a strategic initiative for the country because it gives a differentiated view to this sector that represents the continuity of the Cuban Revolution.

The way in which the Government dedicates itself to assist children, teens and youths will also be the future of the nation’s social prosperity.

The policy, he said, outlines a group of important and innovative issues ranging from the objective and material, such as housing, access to credit and offers of goods and services, opportunities for study, work, masters and doctorates; as well as the spiritual part of formation of values and the creation of an educational culture in this sector.

He underlined that a strategic issue was addressed on which population has been claiming a lot, he referred to the implementation of general guidelines for cracking down on crimes, corruption and social indiscipline.

“We are facing a crucial moment, in which the youth is proving that it is doing well, that it can be done better and that we will continue to do so in order to develop our Revolution”, Carlos Cruz stressed.
