We are spokespersons of the people’s concerns, Cuban legislator says

Havana, Jul 19 (Prensa Latina) All of us, the deputies who are here today are the people, we are spokespersons for the concerns of the people, legislator Sandra Santamaría said during the debates of the permanent working commissions of the Cuban Parliament.

We defend the rights of the people, that is what we do in our debates, she told Prensa Latina on the occasion of the meetings of these parliamentary groups, which are being held prior to the beginning tomorrow of the First Ordinary Period of Sessions of the National Assembly of People’s Power (NAPP) in its 10th Legislature.

Santamaría specifically participates in the Commission on Services, one of the 11 groups that, since yesterday, has been analyzing, at the Convention Palace, 80 issues of the most diverse areas of the economic and social life of the country.

One of the issues addressed by her and other legislators is the implementation of the Food Sovereignty and Food and Nutritional Security Law, legislation approved last year and which, she said, responds to one of the concerns most mentioned by the people.
