López Obrador mocks electoral limitations imposed to silence him

Mexico City, Jul 19 (Prensa Latina) President Andrés Manuel López Obrador today circumvented the limitations of the National Electoral Institute (INE) to silence him, by inaugurating a new section of his daily appearance entitled "I'm not the one who said it."

The resource he used in this first section was to introduce the chosen topic in an elliptical way, this time ignorance, lies and the bad intention of opposition politicians.

In particular, their defense of the millionaire businesswoman Xótchitl Gálvez, candidate of the Broad Front led by businessmen who consider the National Action, Institutional Revolutionary and Democratic Revolution political parties subordinate.

It began with the projection of a reflection by Bertolt Brecht on characters of this nature, in which the German playwright portrays them:

“The worst illiterate is the political illiterate, he does not hear, does not speak, does not participate in political events. He does not know the cost of living, the price of beans, bread, flour, clothing, shoes, medicine, it depends on political decisions.

After commenting on the writer’s reflection with indirect references to current national politics, he finished with the screening of a recent interview with former President Vicente Fox, of the right-wing National Action Party.

Former Coca Cola manager, he is recognized in Mexico for his low culture and submission to national and American businessmen.

In the interview he admits that “robbers no longer fit in the country, and you have to work,” the opposite of what happened in his government.

Immediately, López Obrador began reading the lies of the week by journalist Elizabeth García Vilchis, with a false survey broadcast by Imagen Televisión commentator Ciro Gómez Leyva.

In it they alter the figures and put the candidate of the Xóchitl Front at the head of the presidential preferences, and they deny it with others from different polling companies.

With this section, the president seeks to say the same things that the INE prohibits to silence him and that he denounced as a violation of his right to free expression and reply, although he promised to respect it.

The title of the section, “I don’t say it”, is already a defense in advance of any attempt to accuse him of violating what was notified by the INE to keep him silent.

Concluding the projections of statements by others, López Obrador concluded with a parabolic comment.

Today he said his government is not the same as others, where there are two opposing currents of thought, two different national projects, the root of the current problem in the country.

Therefore, definitions are necessary at this stage so that there is no discrimination and the currents of each party are revealed, he added.
