Minister Hill, who led her country’s official delegation to attend the 3rd European Union (EU) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) Summit, told participants El Salvador has been undergoing a new social transformation and development process since 2019.
We have undertaken a historic and unprecedented effort of political, economic and social transformation aimed at solving in a courageous way the structural issues that have stagnated the country´s progress for decades, Hill stressed.
As a result of these changes, many partners in the Americas firmly recognized that the strategic initiatives promoted in this process may contribute to building a more prosperous, secure and peaceful region, she remarked.
She added that all progress was hit thanks to the “justice and security strategy promoted by El Salvador Government,” which involved improving education, health, economic development and early childhood care, essential areas for achieving true development in her country.
Such policies, she said, allowed population to recover their rights to transform their way of life and change the course of history towards a state of welfare and progress. El Salvador is willing to work with other nations so that they can generate a transformative process within their territories, always prioritizing respect for the sovereignty of each State.
