In a statement, the Foreign Ministry considered the inclusion of the issue in the final declaration of the 3rd Summit of Heads of State and Government of the EU and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), held in Brussels, Belgium.
According to the Argentine Ministry, for the first time in the history of bi-regional relations, the EU officially recognizes in a joint statement CELAC´s stance with respect to the Malvinas Islands.
Both sides further attached importance to the proclamation and preservation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.
