Maite Mola, leader of the Party of the European Left (PIE), accompanied by some twenty representatives of associations, read the call for the Tribunal, scheduled for November 16 and 17 in this capital, during the first day of the forum of social movements and progressive forces in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.
This tribunal aims to denounce the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for more than six decades, a policy, it describes as illegal and inhumane.
It also seeks to strengthen the movement against this siege in Europe and the United States.
“We are certain that this action will serve to add voices to the defense of democratic rights, sovereignty and freedom of the peoples,” the text stresses, signed by the International Association of Democratic Lawyers, the Left Group in the European Parliament, the PIE and the National Lawyers Guild of the United States.
