“As revealed in the course of the investigation, two Ukrainian seaborne drones attacked the bridge over the Kerch Strait in the early hours of this Monday; as a result of the terrorist attack, the viaduct road was damaged. Two adults were killed and one child was injured.” the Committee stated. “The investigation is establishing persons between the Special Services of Ukraine and armed groups involved in the organization and execution of this crime.”

The head of the Russian Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksionov, initially reported that traffic on the Kerch bridge had been halted due to an emergency near the 145th pillar.

The nature of the incident was not initially specified, and motorists were urged to refrain from using the bridge and to employ an alternative land route through the new regions of the Russian Federation, while rail traffic, temporarily disrupted, was resumed.

The emergency services are working at the scene of the incident, and the law enforcement agencies are carrying out all the necessary operational and investigative procedures.

For its part, the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine refused to comment on what happened on the viaduct, although it has never denied that the bridge is one of its prioritized objectives.

A few days ago, the Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister, Anna Maliar, finally acknowledged that the attack on the bridge carried out on October 8th was the work of the Ukrainian special services.
