In a meeting in the Iranian capital, Munir and his host, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, agreed that the two countries would work together to eliminate the menace of terrorism in the border areas through intelligence exchange, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.
They also identified effective measures against terrorist networks and explored ways to enhance security cooperation. Before returning to Pakistan, the visitor met with other military leaders, President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
The meetings focused on bilateral relations to promote regional peace and stability.
According to APP, Pakistani authorities described Munir’s two-day visit to Iran as successful.
