The two leaders met in the context of the 3rd Summit between the EU and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CLACS), taking place this Monday and Tuesday, with environmental and social issues on the agenda.
Díaz-Canel and Gonsalves agreed on the relevance of the meeting, in which participants will advocate for ties between equals and be guided by respect for sovereignty.
Both leaders debated the agreements reached when the Cuban head of State visited Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in December 2022.
On Sunday, Díaz-Canel affirmed during an act of solidarity that Cuba participates in the 3rd EU-CLACS Summit with a positive and constructive position.
The president said Cuba that his country would seek that the bi-regional meeting leaves results allowing the development of Latin American and Caribbean peoples with European participation.
