At a meeting in the framework of the 3rd Summit between the EU and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), both interlocutors highlighted the importance they grant to the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement, and the progress made in its implementation, the Cuban president wrote on Twitter.
Prior to the meeting, Díaz-Canel participated in a meeting of Caribbean-EU leaders, at which he advocated for a more cooperative and supportive look towards the South, especially towards the Caribbean region, where there is potential to expand and diversify joint projects in high priority areas, he noted.
We call for join efforts to eliminate the enormous gap of inequality that separates the countries of the Caribbean and the European Union. It is a difficult but not impossible task.
The Caribbean and the EU can and should cooperate better. In order to move towards that goal, count on #Cuba, he wrote in one of his tweets.
