“The meeting was held hours before the start of the Third Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac)-European Union (EU), said an institutional note from the Foreign Ministry on Monday.
Convened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Mauro Vieira, the meeting analyzed proposals to advance a Roadmap aimed at increasing regional integration, the text adds.
During the VII Celac Summit held in Argentina last January, which was attended by the President of Bolivia, Luis Arce, the heads of State agreed to establish a contact group headed by the foreign ministers of each country with the aim of designing a road map destined to promote the task of integration.
This declaration consists of nine points in which the importance of regional integration is emphasized, which “must be part of the solutions to face shared challenges.”
Likewise, the document calls for the need to “promote, from now on, South American cooperation initiatives, under a social and gender approach,” concludes the institutional note.
