Belarusian FM discusses in Cuba strengthening of bilateral relations

Havana, Jul 17 (Prensa Latina) Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik discusses today the strengthening of bilateral relations and prospects for cooperation, as part of a working visit to this capital.

Aleinik first meets with the President of the National People’s Power Assembly (Parliament) Esteban Lazo, and later with acting Foreign Minister Josefina Vidal.

The Belarusian foreign minister expects to meet also with the Cuban Deputy Prime Minister and also Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Ricardo Cabrisas, this Monday.

On Tuesday, Aleinik will meet with Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdés and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, as well as a visit to the Fidel Castro Center in Havana.

The relations between Cuba and Belarus are characterized by a high exchange of visits, which have strengthened the political, economic-commercial, social, educational, scientific-technical, sports, and defense cooperation.

A delegation led by Cuba’s Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) Minister, Army Corps General Álvaro López Miera, concluded a visit to Minsk on July 1, Cuba’s Ambassador to Belarus, Santiago Perez, told Prensa Latina.
