Attack on Crimean bridge to cause escalation, British lawmaker says

London, Jul 17 (Prensa Latina) Kiev's recent attack on the Crimean bridge will cause an escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, UK defense select committee at the British Parliament Tobias Ellwood said on Monday.

What happened to the bridge built over the Kerch Strait indicates that the Ukrainian counteroffensive is at a new stage, according to the local press.

A few hours earlier, Russia’s National Anti-Terrorist Committee reported that at least two people were killed and one child was injured after a Kiev terrorist attack with water drones on the bridge over the Kerch Strait.

The local authorities asked residents and tourists to refrain from traveling through the way and choose an alternative route.

Ukrainian officials and military forces adopted the decision to attack the bridge with the participation of US and British intelligence agencies, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned.
