The event was convened under the theme “Africa beyond the crisis: charting an agenda for investment, sustainable growth and shared prosperity,” the African Union said.
The Specialized Technical Committee is considered the main venue for talks between African central bank governors and ministers responsible for finance, the economy, planning, integration and economic development, and is a space to discuss development issues related to Africa; it is also in charge of monitoring the implementation of the continent’s integration agenda.
Experts will exchange ideas on how to better rebuild Africa to achieve sustainable growth and shared prosperity through a new investment agenda under the African Continental Free Trade Area towards Agenda 2063.
They will address issues related to the design and application of effective structural transformation strategies and policies that support job creation, improving productive capacities, creating sustainable social protection programs, facilitating the transition to a green economy, and promoting intergenerational equity.
