Spokespersons for the group took advantage of the capture of another military officer deeply involved in the massacre to renew their request to bring the judicial process out of the stalemate and to increase pressure on Israel to extradite Tomás Zerón, creator of the ‘historical truth’ together with the detained and prosecuted former attorney general Jesús Murillo Karam.
On Thursday, it was announced that former military officer Francisco Narváez Pérez was arrested in Querétaro as he was linked to the disappearance of 43 students.
Data from the National Registry of Arrests of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection showed that Narváez Pérez was captured on Tuesday, July 11, at 1:51, at his residence.
In June, the second judge of Almoloya de Juarez Raquel Ivette Duarte ordered the arrest of Narvaez Perez and 15 other soldiers.
She argued that the evidence provided by the Public Prosecutor’s Office showed that the actions and omissions of senior and middle commanders of the 41st and 27th battalions stationed in Iguala allowed the capture of the students by organized crime and their subsequent disappearance.
