In a message to local media, official Foreign Ministry Spokesman Arindam Bagchi considered such an action an interference in India’s internal affairs.
He noted that Indian authorities at all levels, including the judiciary, are aware of the situation in that territory and are taking measures to keep peace, harmony, law and order.
Bagchi emphasized that it would be beneficial for the European Parliament to use its time more productively on its own internal issues.
At a recent meeting, Indian Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed the government’s commitment to restoring peace in the state of Manipur, which has experienced tribal violence since May.
Shah affirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been monitoring the situation from day one and is guiding with full sensitivity to find a solution to the problem.
