According to the National Meteorological Center, short bursts of heavy rain with hourly rainfall of more than 60 millimeters will hit parts of Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Anhui, Jiangsu, Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Guangxi and Taiwan.
Authorities recommended reducing outdoors activities and insisted that ships return to port or divert.
They also warned of possible flash floods, landslides and other disasters. On this subject, more than 2,600 residents were evacuated on Friday, following heavy rains and flooding in Chongqing Municipality, in southwest China.
According to the local meteorological service, storms have hit 28 districts and counties in that region since last Thursday, with a record of maximum daily rainfalls of 227 millimeters in Wanzhou district.
