According to the Ministry of Communication and Press, the event will take place at 09:00 local time at Palacio San Martín.
Argentina assumed the leadership of the NSG in June 2022 for the fourth time during a meeting in Warsaw, Poland, where it was represented by Gustavo Eduardo Ainchil, the Representative before the International Atomic Energy Agency and ambassador to Austria, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
Argentina seeks to contribute to the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons through the implementation of controls on exports of radioactive material.
“The exercise of this responsibility reflects the active role and commitments assumed by our country, which reflects the global recognition of our leadership on the issue,” said a statement from the Foreign Ministry.
It also assures that Argentina uses atomic energy for peaceful purposes, such as obtaining energy and the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, and reiterates its commitment to the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
