Official circles indicated that the signing ceremony will take place at the Planalto Palace, seat of the Executive Power in Brasilia, with the participation of the Minister of Cities, Jader Filho, among other authorities.
In June, the Senate approved the bill converting the provisional measure 1.162/2023, which recreated the federal public policy.
Also in that month, the text was certified by the Chamber of Deputies, with amendments. One of them is the permission for the use of resources from the Service Time Guarantee Fund for public lighting, basic sanitation, public roads and storm water drainage projects.
Among the main changes in the new Minha Casa, Minha Vida (My House, My Life) are: the increase in the income range to participate in the program, the reduction in the rate and the improvement in the financing conditions.
The value of the property was increased, as well as the subsidy financed by the federal government.
Criteria were also included in the technical specifications to guarantee the improvement of the quality of the real estate and the location of the land inserted in the urban network.
According to Planalto, one of the main novelties of the initiative is the return of the so-called Band 1, which is available to families with a gross income of up to 2,640 reais (a little more than US$ 500), previously required was 1,800 reais (almost US$ 347).
In addition, homeless families will be included in the program and the expansion of social leasing should take place.
According to the Government, the properties delivered were with 96 percent of the works concluded since 2016. The constructions were recently resumed.
The contracts and registrations of the program’s housing will be made, preferably, in the woman’s name.
In case she is head of the household, the formalities may be signed independently from the husband’s authorization.
