Addressing a virtual meeting organized by the Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (CAHOSCC), Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stressed significance of the regional summit in this regard.
Mr. Madbouly warned on the continent’s present situation given food and energy crises.
Egyptian Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad recently warned that Africa accounted for less than 4% of global greenhouse emissions, but is one of the most vulnerable continents to global warming impacts.
According to the African Development Bank, the continent will need over $145 billion annually by 2030 to cope with climate change.
