This is the first state visit ever of a Cuban president to Portugal, the executive office highlighted in Twitter.
His delegation is made up of Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez and First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade, Ana Teresita Gonzalez, and other officials.
Diaz-Canel announced on the same social network that he was making the visit, which had been postponed because of the pandemic, and that it will be an excellent opportunity to expand historic relations.
The president’s visit will be an opportunity to continue strengthening bilateral relations between Cuba and Portugal, on the 104th anniversary of their establishment.
