Permanent Representative of the Syrian Arab Republic to the United Nations, Bassam Sabbagh, issued this statement to the media in this capital, during a Security Council meeting dedicated to discuss the Syrian chemical dossier.
We regret the severe flaws in the fact-finding mission’s work on the alleged incidents of chemical attacks in Syria and the violation of the referential terms mentioned in the agreement, especially the verification annex, the diplomat said.
Sabbagh described the referred mission’s findings as unprofessional, stating they are proof of double standards.
According to the Syrian representative, the investigation relied on open or anonymous sources, used evidence collected by terrorist groups, increasing distrust in this team’s work, and confirmed its low professionalism and objectivity.
