Rejection of anti-Cuba projects in Europarliament grows in Italy

Rome, Jul 12 (Prensa Latina) The rejection of a draft resolution against Cuba to be debated on Wednesday in the European Parliament was joined here by dozens of Italian groups, with thousands of members, representing different social sectors of the country.

Messages from the National Association of Italy-Cuba Friendship (Anaic) and the organization La Villetta were added to the letters sent to the MEPs by the National Coordination of Cubans Resident in Italy (Conaci), as well as from the Agency for Cultural and Economic Exchange with Cuba (Aicec).

They also include texts from the Cuba Together Association, the Center for Italy-Cuba Studies, the Cuba Va Collective, the Association of Internationalist Solidarity with Cuba, Modena for Cuba, the Committee Against the War, Parma for Cuba, Turin with the Anti-imperialist Latin America and the Cuba Mambí Internationalist Action Group.

The latter group’s letter, which expresses its rejection of proposed resolution 2023/2744(RSP) on the status of the EU-Cuba Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement (ACDP), in light of the High Representative’s recent visit to Cuba, pointed out that this action is against the Cuban people’s right to life.
