Cuba reports 7 new Covid-19 cases, no deaths

Havana, Jul 12 (Prensa Latina) Cuba is nowadays maintaining a too much favorable epidemiological situation in its control over Covid-19, where just seven cases were reported on Wednesday in three provinces, as informed by Public Health Ministry (MINSAP).

According to MINSAP, 222 tests were checked at labs, bringing the country´s total test toll to 14,377,111 since the first case detected in March 2020.

The new coronavirus cases were reported in Havana, Mayabeque and Matanzas provinces. 29 patients remained hospitalized with a stable clinical progress.

Neither seriously-ill, critically-ill patients at ICUs nor deaths have been so far reported.

According to Dr. Raul Guinovart, director of Science, Technology and Innovation at the University of Havana (UH), the Mayabeque province reported an increase number of cases.

For coming few days, the forecasts are still very too favorable. Yet it should not be forgotten that as an endemic disease, Covid-19 will have a variable behavior, and although in the summer months it may decrease, it could increase as well, so it is necessary to continue with immunization campaign and other measures.
