As stated by the diplomat to the TASS news agency, this trade increase represents a 20% growth year-on-year and lays the foundations for the achievements proposed by the heads of both States of reaching an annual trade volume of 200 billion dollars.
Zhang, who visited the Innoprom International Fair taking place in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg, highlighted the role of energy cooperation between the two countries.
“Russia is the main source of Chinese coal, crude and gas imports. An upward trend in energy exports to China has been observed since the beginning of this year,” he stressed.
The Chinese ambassador also pointed out that there are good prospects for cooperation in agriculture, since the range of agricultural trade and by-products is constantly expanding.
The value of China’s imported agricultural products from Russia rose 84 percent in the first five months, Zhang noted.
