The provincial police command said in a statement that terrorists detonated an explosive device as a joint patrol of the army and security forces passed by on the road between Damascus and Deraa.
Last June 25, four police personnel were killed and another was wounded in an armed attack in the town of Tafas, in the same region.
Syria faces a war imposed since 2011, and although its army, with the support of its allies Russia and Iran, liberated most of the national territory from radicals, some attacks occur for which Damascus blames groups supported from abroad to continue destabilizing the country.
