ITUC also made reference to the strike of June 2022, in which Ecuadorian workers took to the streets.
Likewise, the South American nation was pointed out by the ranking as one of the countries where trade unionists or workers have been murdered, as well as Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, Eswatini, Guatemala, Peru and Sierra Leone.
On June 1, the Ecuadorian Confederation of Free Trade Union Organizations (CEOSL) also ranked Ecuador among 2023´s worst nations for workers´ right.
