DPRK rejects sending US nuclear submarine to Korean peninsula

Pyongyang, Jul 10 (Prensa Latina) The DPRK warned today that tensions in the area will increase as a result of the announced presence of a U.S. strategic submarine loaded with nuclear warheads in the Korean peninsula.

The Ministry of National Defense said that this would force the DPRK to accept as a reality even an eventual crisis situation, which would bring it closer to the point of a nuclear clash, and recalled that since 1981, there had not been a similar situation.

This event is an open nuclear blackmail against the DPRK and neighboring countries and a threat to peace and security in the region and the rest of the world (…) If any unexpected event occurs, the responsibility will fall entirely on the US, he pointed out.

The statement, quoted by the state-run agency KCNA, said that the increased acts of the US military spying, violating the sovereignty of the DPRK, cannot be ignored either.
