Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Mao Ning warned at a press conference to take into account the danger of such an action for civilians and not to put it before military and security needs.
She called for restraint by all parties involved in the transfer of these bombs and insisted that they refrain from further aggravating the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
The spokeswoman reiterated China’s commitment to dialogue and a negotiated solution to the situation as soon as possible to prevent it from getting out of control.
Apart from the China, several nations and international organizations have rejected the plan announced on July 7 by the United States to deliver cluster bombs to Ukraine, as part of a security package valued at 800 million dollars.
Such munitions are banned in more than 100 countries due to their danger to civilians.
