“So far, all 10,784 polling stations opened and voting began with the national anthem, and so far the CEC has not received any complaints of any violations,” the official wrote on his Telegram account.
Voting began at 08:00, (Tashkent time), and according to the CEC, about 800 international observers representing several dozen states and organizations, as well as about 1,500 local and foreign journalists were accredited for the elections.
The People’s Democratic Party and the Ecologist Party nominated their leaders Ulugbek Inoyatov and Abdushukur Khamzaev as presidential candidates, the Social Democratic Party of Justice nominated the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court, Robakhon Makhmudova.
Meanwhile, the Liberal Democratic Party nominated the current head of state, Shavkat Mirziyóyev. The National Revival Democrat also decided to support Mirziyóyev’s candidacy.
