By consensus, CELAC´s 32 member states “decided to give Colombia the privilege of hosting CELAC in 2025, thanks to the leadership that the Government of Change is having in international matters,” she said.
Confirming Colombia as CELAC Pro Tempore President was decided at the Meeting of Foreign Ministers on July 7, reaffirming Colombia´s interest in strengthening and promoting Latin American and Caribbean integration.
It means that Colombia will lead more decisively integration processes of our region with other regional blocs and powers around the globe, to position the interests of the national government.
The Colombian government’s aspirations in relation to integration include promoting green transition and regional energy interconnection at the regional level, crackdown on climate change as well as the new approach to drug issues, migration, food and health self-sufficiency, among others.
