The judicial body’s press release states that there are strong suspicions that those involved created or are members of a terrorist organization in the country.
The detainees are accused of supporting the foreign terrorist organization, Islamic State, the document adds.
Five of the detainees come from Tajikistan, one from Turkmenistan and one from Kyrgyzstan and traveled to Germany in 2022 almost at the same time to create a terrorist organization with the aim of carrying out heavy attacks in the country.
The group maintained contact with members of the regional branch of Daesh, examined possible locations for crimes and tried to obtain weapons, according to investigations.
The actions took place in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia (west) and the suspects will appear in court today and tomorrow for judges to issue arrest warrants and decide whether or not to remand them in custody.
