When evoking Roa’s work, the Cuban leader quoted intellectual Armando Hart, who noted that the history of modern diplomacy in the world cannot be written without including the struggles and work of the Foreign Minister of Dignity.
“Our memory today for Raúl Roa, his voice in defense of Cuba and its Revolution still resounds,” the President tweeted.
In his role as an exponent of Cuba’s foreign policy, he transcended spectacular battles of oratory as during the Playa Giron (Bay of Pigs) invasion and the October (Missile) Crisis.
