Almost 70 former legislators of Ecuador to return to Parliament

Asamblea-Ecuador
Quito, Jul 6 (Prensa Latina) During the elections of next August 20, 68 former legislators of Ecuador will try to return to the National Assembly.

In order to run and occupy one of the 137 seats in dispute, some of them have even changed political parties.

The Citizen Revolution movement (CR) registered 45 of the 47 assemblymen who were part of the legislature when last May 17, President Guillermo Lasso dissolved the Parliament with the decree of cross death.

Marcela Holguín, former first vice-president of the Assembly and Viviana Veloz, who stood out for promoting the political trial for embezzlement against the chief executive, are among those who could return.

The Social Christian Party (PSC) presented among its candidates 11 former parliamentarians, while Pachakutik only one of its former legislators.

From the latter political force, two representatives changed to the Construye movement two candidates who were already part of the legislature and were criticized for their closeness to the government: Sofia Sanchez and Gisella Molina.
