To the protocolar hall of the Legislative attended representatives of the public powers, high authorities of the Government and the State, governors, mayors, high officers of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and the diplomatic corps accredited in Caracas, among others.
The agenda began with the reading of the Act of the Declaration of Independence of 1811 by Major General Gloria Castillo, who recounted that moment when the Spanish monarchy was abolished for good.
“We have the unavoidable commitment to maintain the sacred fire and fortify the moral values that lay the foundations of a true democracy, which provides the greatest possible social and political stability,” Castillo pointed out.
The major general further ratified that nowadays they have a free and independent homeland as recorded in the Declaration of Independence of 5th July.
Earlier, in a solemn act presided by Executive Vice-President Delcy Rodriguez, the urn had been opened, which contained the book of Minutes of the Supreme Congress of 1811, a document written by Juan German Roscio and Francisco Isnardi.
