UAE builds field hospital for Sudanese refugees in Chad

Abu Dhabi, Jul 5 (Prensa Latina) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has begun to build a field hospital in the Chadian city of Amdjarass to support Sudanese refugees.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the establishment of the field hospital, under the directives of President Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, is a contribution from the Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan Foundation, the Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and the Emirates Red Crescent Authority.

According to the source, quoted in a WAM report, this initiative is part of the humanitarian and health aid campaign launched by the Emirates to the Sudanese citizens, who have been plunged into a complex humanitarian crisis due to the armed conflict in Sudan started on April 15.

The aid to the Republic of Chad also aims to alleviate the humanitarian impact due to the influx of refugees caused by the current situation in the region.
