Russian economy recovers despite sanctions

Moscow, Jul 5 (Prensa Latina) The Russian economy continues to recover despite sanctions, and the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) registered a growth 0.6 percent in the first five months of the year, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

The Minister stressed that the government is certain that the GDP growth will exceed two percent by the end of the year, as long as there is no greater force, as reported by a Russian TV network on Wednesday.

The Russian authorities declared on more than one occasion that the Russian Federation will be able to resist the pressure of the sanctions applied by the West since a few years ago, and which continue to intensify.

President Vladimir Putin assured that the policy of containment and weakening of Russia is a long-term Western strategy, and has verified that the sanctions have caused serious damage to the entire world economy.
