This came after the Minister of Justice Flávio Dino indicated that he would send the request to the AGU for the analysis of compensation for damages caused to the Judiciary of the Union and to Brazilian society.
This occurs after the former president was disqualified by the Superior Electoral Tribunal for abuse of political power and improper use of public media during the past elections.
Bolsonaro was disqualified by the court from holding public office until 2030 by five votes in favor and two against for holding a meeting with foreign ambassadors on July 18th, which was broadcasted on public television, and during which he attacked the national voting system and electronic ballot boxes without evidence.
According to the accusation, Bolsonaro spread a series of lies about the elections process and caused damage to the Union funds, leading the Public Ministry of Accounts (MPC), which acts together with the Court of Accounts of the Union, to file another lawsuit against him.
The objective of the MPC is to litigate the application of administrative sanctions and the reimbursement of damage caused to the public treasury.
Bolsonaro has yet to answer before the Supreme Court for his attacks on Brazilian democracy.
