Previously, Director, Regina Balaguer and the main dancers gave a preview at Casa de América, with some beats of one of the emblematic works in the history of dance by Piotr Tchaikovsky and Marius Petipa.
The Camagüey Ballet, founded by Fernando Alonso, will be performing in Madrid until August 6 at the downtown Gran Vía Theater with 32 dancers on stage, including Harold Rafael Báez, Shirley Suárez, Rosa María Rodríguez Armengol and Yanni García.
Our maxim is to maintain the imprint of the Cuban Ballet School, with the legacy left to us by Maestro Fernando Alonso. And although we have dancers from all over the country, the idiosyncrasy of the people from Camagüey is present, Balaguer noted.
Company choreographer Rafael Saladrigas commented that this is a work appreciated by the whole world with its own vision of style, as is the case of the Camagüey Ballet.
