In a letter read at the commemorative event for the anniversary, Raúl Castro congratulated the Academy’s staff for their results in the training and improvement of FAR officers, Cuban television reported.
The letter, signed by the Cuban leader, highlights the military higher education center’s contribution to improve the “war of all the people” military doctrine, and strengthen the country’s defensive potential.
The ceremony for the anniversary of the educational-military institution was presided over by the first deputy minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, Army Corps General Ramón Espinosa.
Due to their outstanding career, a group of officers was promoted to the next rank, and the Cuban Workers’ Confederation (CTC) awarded the FAR Academy the Moncada Heroes seal for six decades of service to the country, at the proposal of the National Union of Civilian Defense Workers.
