The Angolan Foreign Ministry told local media in Luanda that Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities Domingos Custódio Vieira Lopes, on Monday received Cuban Ambassador Esther Armenteros to address various issues of common interest.
At the meeting, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex), the two parties reviewed issues inherent to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation and shared impressions on the exchange of visits at the most varied levels, the source added.
According to the press release, Armenteros took advantage of the occasion to recall the need to review agreements still pending, specifically in the economic, commercial, air transport and prison services fields.
The Cuban ambassador noted the possibility of a trade delegation from Cuba to travel to Angola, as well as the establishment of a Bilateral Economic Agenda, Mirex added.
The communiqué added that Angola and Cuba “maintain excellent relations of cooperation, friendship and brotherhood,” especially in the areas of health care, education, energy, defense, security, oil, industry and commerce.
