Carlos Lazo and Bridges of Love members visit social project in Cuba

Havana, Jul 3 (Prensa Latina) Professor Carlos Lazo, an activist against the United States blockade against Cuba and founder of the Bridges of Love Caravan, visited the Quisicuaba social project in this capital on Monday.

Lazo, who promotes solidarity with his homeland, considered it an honor to be back in Quisicuaba and witness the work of love that takes place in a humble neighborhood in Havana. He confessed that he felt very proud to bring, on this occasion, US students, their parents, Chicago teachers and members of the Miami Caravan against the blockade against Cuba, “so they can see the work of love and solidarity that they do here,” he told local media.

“To come here is to be nourished by something so beautiful that is needed in the world and that in Quisicuaba abounds: love and doing for one’s neighbor,” the activist, who resides in the United States, noted.

Lazo called on supportive friends and Cuban émigrés to get to know and learn from this project that brings together some 30 social programs to benefit socially vulnerable people.

The leader of Bridges of Love reaffirmed the importance of solidarity for Cuba in a difficult context caused by the US hostile, cruel and inhumane blockade the United States, which punishes Cuban families.
