According to the military spokesman, in the Donetsk area, during an active defense, the units of the Southern Troop Group successfully repelled 11 enemy attacks in the towns of Artiomovsk, Vodianoye, Novobajmútovka, Severnoye, Pervomáiskoye and Márinka.
Enemy casualties in these areas south of Donetsk and the Zaporozhye area during the day amounted to 150 servicemen killed and wounded, one tank, two infantry fighting vehicles, two armored vehicles, three cars, as well as one FH70 howitzer, Konashenkov detailed.
The high-ranking officer said that Russian troops killed up to 360 Ukrainian soldiers in the Donetsk area, six tanks, eight infantry vehicles, five cars, an American-made M119 mechanically-tracted howitzer, a Polish Krab self-propelled howitzer, and a Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer.
He also added they destroyed ammunition depots of the 92nd Mechanized Brigade and the 95th Ukrainian Airborne Assault Brigade near Seversk and Grigoorovka, in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Meanwhile, the air defense shot down a Ukrainian Air Force Su-25 attack plane near the town of Novoandreyevka in the Zaporozhye region, four Himars missiles as well as a HARM anti-radar missile were intercepted during the day, said the military spokesman.
In addition, Konashenkov specified that the Russian units shot down 14 drones in Soledar, Krásnaya Gorá, Yákovlevka, Volódino, Yegórovka, Orlínskoye, in the Donetsk People’s Republic; Kuibyshevo, in the Zaporozhye region; Belogorovka and Novokrasnianka, in the Lugansk People’s Republic.
Russia records that since it began its special military operation in Ukraine it has destroyed 445 planes, 240 helicopters, 4,859 unmanned aerial vehicles, 426 anti-aircraft missile systems, more than 10,472 tanks and other armored combat vehicles.
Since February 24, 2022, Russia has been carrying out a special military operation in eastern Ukraine which, according to President Vladimir Putin, seeks to demilitarize and denazify the neighboring country and prevent attacks by the Kiev regime against the civilian population of the Folks of Lugansk and Donetsk Republics.
