On Twitter, Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez expressed his deepest condolences to relatives of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

Kenyan authorities reported that the accident occurred on the road linking the cities of Kericho and Nakuru as a truck driver lost control and rammed eight other vehicles, businesses, cyclists and pedestrians.

Heavy rains in western Kenya are hampering rescue operations, the local Red Cross reported, however, police resumed the search for more bodies at the scene of the accident.
