According to reports from the state-owned Fana Broadcasting Corporate, Zewde participated in the events in Bujumbura on the occasion of Burundi’s National Day.

Military parades, traditional dances, drumming, among other activities, take place every year in Burundi to celebrate its independence from Belgium on July 1, 1962.
