Authorities in the northeastern town bordering Brazil accused Commissioner Miguel Ángel Moreno and Sub-Officer Luis Alberto Peña of changing their original version in favor of the owner of the cargo, after seizing the drugs, the digital edition of the newspaper added.
The uniformed officers, Cabrera assured, admitted recognizing the alleged drug trafficker, former police officer Benicio Silva, when they intercepted and seized the 20-ton load of marijuana on July 8, 2016, in Katuete, “but during the oral hearing they denied his presence in the events.”
The new anti-drug prosecutor of Saltos de Guairá will now request the Court that is trying Silva, alias Silva Hú, to forward the background information related to the statements of both agents to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
