“Terrorism in this region must end; there will be no place for this scourge in any part of the country”, said Sousan after a session of talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Vershinin.
The deputy minister appreciated Russia’s solidarity positions with Syria in the political, military and economic fields, and reiterated Damascus’ support for the Russian Federation in the face of NATO’s hostility.
Vershinin, on his side, ratified Russia’s constant support for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and its repudiation of attempts to interfere in internal affairs.
The two sides expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations and strategic partnership, and condemned the politicization of the issue of Syrian refugees and humanitarian aid.
The officials highlighted the need to respect Syria’s sovereignty and support the state’s efforts to overcome the destructive impact of the unjust war.
