Organized by the Cuban Embassy in Costa Rica, representatives of the Latin American diplomatic staff accredited in this country, solidarity groups with the Caribbean nation, intellectuals, and Cuban residents will attend the ceremony.
The program includes a master lecture entitled “The Golden Age, from Martí to Joaquín García Mongue,” by Nuria Rodríguez, master in Latin American Studies and professor at the National University of Costa Rica.
Rodríguez will talk about the compilation of García Mongue’s works in 1920, using Martí’s magazine for children and adolescents as a background for her selection of Latin American and universal texts of several genres and themes.
José Martí arrived in Puerto Limón on his first trip to Costa Rica on June 30, 1893. He returned to this country in 1894.
